Jos van den Broek (Haarlem) is a photographer who values authenticity over perfection. His work—often in black and white—seeks to capture moments as they are: raw, unpolished, and quietly powerful. Whether photographing musicians or intimate portraits, he aims to tell stories that resonate without needing to impress.
Photography, for Jos, is not about decoration but about connection. Alongside digital techniques, he is drawn to analog processes, embracing the slower pace they demand, allowing space for reflection in a fast-moving world.
As a member of the Haarlem-based art platform 37PK, Jos is interested in collaboration across disciplines. His recent project, Creatieve Verbindingen, grew from a desire to not only make art, but to share it—between makers, with audiences, and with the city itself.
His camera is not a barrier, but a way in. Through it, he invites viewers to pause, to look again, and to feel what often remains just beneath the surface.
